Possible scam

I have someone trying to send me money but he says that I have to purchase a steam card in order to send me the money and I feel like this this scam and I've tried looking things up and I haven't been able to get a clear answer and I'm just wondering as anyone else ran into this

If somebody needs to send money to your PayPal account, you do not need to purchase anything in order to receive the money. The important information they will need to use to send it to you is your email address link to your account. I hope this helps.
