New PayPal Changes Coming In June 30

Hi there!

We have received emails from PayPal regarding the new changes coming into effect on June 30.

This is what we received:

"Our records indicate that your PayPal integration is not compatible with TLS1.2 and/or HTTP/1.1 and you will need to make the necessary updates to your systems before 30 June 2018 to continue accepting payments."

PayPal told us to contact our service provider/hosting service, who told us they couldn't do anything (Linode) and told us to ask our web guy. Web guy told us to ask Linode...so now we are lost.

Someone also told us that all we need to do to be compliant with the June 30 PayPal changes is to install a secure SSL Certificate on our website. Is this correct?

Any help/direction in simple terms would be much appreciated.

Hi,

All of the information related to the new TLS upgrade can be found in these two resources:

https://www.paypal-notice.com/en/TLS-1.2-and-HTTP1.1-Upgrade/
and
https://www.paypal-notice.com/en/IPN-Verification-Postback-to-HTTPS/ (should you be using IPN)

In order to determine where your account was identified as having an issue, you can create a request to https://www.paypal-techsupport.com/
Our Merchant Technical Support staff can potentially provide some further guidance for you to work with your developer or CRM to ensure the necessary changes are made.

That being said, if you are currently processing transactions through your website successfully to PayPal, you are passing the new TLS protocol.
