Login mobile number is an old one that does not match my new primary mobile number

When I attempt to login it presents the last 3 numbers of the mobile number I opened my paypal account with.

I no longer have that number.

Instead I have registered a new primary number and my landline line number, neither of which are vaguely like the original (obviously).

So why does I always get prompted to login with the old number ?

I can circumvent this by clicking on the 'Try another way...' but it's daft.
