Locked out of account

Hi, I've not logged into my account for about 12 years back when I was selling on eBay. Recently I started selling on eBay again so started using my pp account. I was logging in and receiving funds fine until suddenly a text message authentication block suddenly appeared without warning. I no longer have that number. Upon calling pp I was asked for the last 4 of my bank account number. I updated it last week but for some reason it's not recognised. So I'm guessing that they want one of my account numbers from the last 18 years that I no longer have any way to find out? I've had a lot of accounts! What can I do? I'm pretty sure I registered new financial details on my account. Is there a passport/photo ID process to verify people in my position?

I think thats why its important to keep your account details up to date.

Your best bet is to contact customer services to see if they can help you.

Paypal phones are mostly non operational since covid but sometimes you get lucky.
If there is one available it will show when you click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available in your country.
Live chat is randomly available.
You can send them a message.
Or have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their facebook or twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK and @AskPayPal for Twitter.
