Hello

I used my card  on a friend's Paypal account,he deleted that account but now i can't add the card on my personal account. He can't log in anymore (obviously) to add another one and delete mine. So basically he deleted that paypal account without removing my bank details. We thought the account will be removed automatically  but I still get the same error  - Card is linked to another account.

If you close an account you should remove any cards / bank accounts first.

The only way to get it removed now is to contact customer services and ask them to remove it for you BUT they may be reluctant to do so as you have already broken their rules in adding your card to another persons paypal account.

Paypal phones are mostly non operational since covid but sometimes you get lucky.
If there is one available it will show when you click help / contact bottom left of Paypal pages for options available in your country.
Live chat is randomly available.
You can send them a message.
Or have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
