I'm in UK, I have account in Spain I want to cancel

I have an old account I've just become aware of that I no longer use in Spain. I no longer have the bank card or the mobile number associated with it. I've tried calling their helpline (in Spain) and it's NEVER answered - just 20mins+ in a waiting queue... I don't want to spend any more money on making this call and would appreciate THEM calling me! but there isn't this option on the website as they assume you are in Spain and ask to enter a Spanish number (the form doesn't recognise non-Spanish format numbers). I no longer want this account and just want to cancel it. There isn't a way to log-in to the account using the email as an official Paypal "error" page comes up each time I try to enter or reset the password and I can't notify them to call me... extremely annoying cos all I want to do is close the account I no longer want! Any advice?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.
