How can I delete an old Paypal personal account?

Some years ago, I set up an old Paypal account using one of my regular E-mail addresses. I never used it and moved on. Things changed--I ended up using a new phone number, even.

I want to use Paypal again, and I have set up a new account with the E-mail that I do use. I would like to be able to delete the old Paypal account, but I have forgotten the password and I no longer have the phone number that I used in setting up the account.

What can I do? I can prove my identity in other ways.

You need to contact customer services to resolve any account issues.
