It is wise to close it as soon as possible. If there is ever a situation where PayPal needs to validate identity, you may find yourself unable to provide the needed information. Closing the account and creating one with only your own information is definitely the correct course of action. Please remember that PayPal accounts are not designed to be shared, and only one person's information should ever be on the account.
