Changed my email address yesterday, but am still receiving mail to the old email address. Is it normal for there to be a delay in swapping the email address on an account?
Not really, the change is normally pretty quick - did you confirm the new email and then make it the primary ? And is the old email still associated with any current button code ?
If you don't know then that's not the problem which is fine.
Button code is term for creating a Shopping Cart whereas you have Add to Card or Buy Now buttons on a web page for people to make purchases. When someone clicks on a Buy Now for example to make a purchase, your email address is the link in the code which is also the link to your PayPal Account - that's how PayPal knows who to send the money to.
