Imtrying to verify account and this merchant saying wjhati have sent is not aLL on one page, they say verification has to be complete preferably using desktop version????

I know its probably too late but I had an issue similar where I had to verify my bank account. Just Duckduckgo "Paypal desktop version" log in then proceed to do your thing. Its different from the mobile in which I believe most of the faq issues with paypal have to do with not having a desktop. I saw something from 2014, 2018 which was you. So... anyways.
