Closing an Account with a small balance

How do I close an account with a balance less than $1.00 (which is the minimum that can be transferred to my bank)?

Can you send it using the friends / family option to a mate or family member?

Failing that get a friend or family member to use the above option to send YOU some funds to top it up to an amount you can withdraw and then close the account?
