Change U.S. PayPal account to German account

Hi,

I have a U.S. based PayPal account, but recently moved to Germany. Does anyone know how I can add my German address to my account? Do I have to cancel my account and sign up for a German account?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.

You are supposed to withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts before you leave your old country. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved.

The only exception is U.S expats can add their bank accounts to other countries paypal accounts (paypal is a U.S company so they allow their citizens to do this).

too late, my account is from 2000, and until now it was no problem to work with this account .. now paypal seemed to prohibit any usage of my old account. I still have a bank account in the US and I want also to have an Paypal account in $ rather than having to pay always currency conversion fees when sending money to this account.. 

But currently I can not access my money any more ..

And I found no way to get usefull support, only some quite stupid "AI" that does not recognice what I'm asking for. As I'm currently not in the US I would prefer some e-mail or other kind of message .. but paypal seem to have no possibility for such ways of getting support   😞 

not sure what to do now ..

Any idea how to solve such problems ?
