Change PayPal password when don't have same phone number

Hi,

I have forgotten my PayPal account password but I don't have the same telephone number anymore.

When I click on the link to reset the password it first asks to verify my email address and then my telephone number.

Does anybody know how to get past this?

If not, can I close my account without knowing the password or having the same telephone number?
