Can't confirm an email update

I'm trying to update my account and add an email. 

I type in the email and I get the confirmation email, that's fine.

But when I click the button to confirm, it directs me to enter my password. I enter my password. Then I'm redirected to a regular log in screen. Then I log in. But then I get logged in, and it doesn't confirm the update. It's like I just logged into my account regularly. 

Same thing happens when I click the link instead of the button. 

Is there any way I can confirm the email?
