Can't access my paypal account.

Dear Community and Support team,

I have a problem accessing my Paypal account.

A few years ago I had an active account in Germany, when I was living there.

Later I moved back to Ukraine, where I reside now.

Since then PayPal asked me to change my password but didn't let me log in. Saying:

"Wir konnten leider nicht bestätigen, dass Sie es sind"

"We cannot prove that this is you"

I suppose this is because my account has been created in Germany and now my activity from Ukraine is kinda suspicious for service.

I've got the same email and I know my password, which was changed recently.

Could you please advice whom I can address this problem?

Can it be solved by support team manually?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards,

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

HOWEVER you can't add a local bank account / debit card in the Ukraine.
You can only link a credit card.

Also the option to receive paypal payments is sadly not available in the Ukraine.
You can only send payments for purchases funded by your (confirmed) credit card.

Paypal varies a lot country to country and can only offer the services that the banks / governments of that country allow it to offer.
There are quite a few countries unable to receive paypal payments.
