Being forced to change personal account to business account

Hello,
I want to set up a business paypal account, but when I enter my business email for setup, it automatically takes me to the login for  my personal paypal account and then want me to convert my personal account into business account. I don't want to do that. I want to set up an independent business paypal account. Any ideas?

I can see you are posting with a personal account so I don't know if it has changed your account or not yet. To downgrade back to a personal account though, you do need to contact customer service:

Log on, click HELP on top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US or other contact options.

 

Or contact via social media:

Twitter (UK): @paypalUK 

 

Facebook (US): https://www.facebook.com/paypal

Twitter (US): @AskPayPal

On the page for entering the email address, does the url say "check account" on the end? If so, is the email address you entered currently used on your personal account?

Thank you. I though I had it sorted, but turns out it has now changed my personal account after all. This is a major problem, which need help with to fix asap, but the phone help won't open till Monday.

Hello again, I just checked because you said it looked like my account was still private/personal. This is an alert I see on my account page now: "Welcome to your Business Paypal account".
Are you still seeing it as private?
