Welcome to the PayPal Community! It sounds like you may have purchased an item using our guest checkout feature. That just means that PayPal processed the payment with the financial information you entered because you didn't log into your account directly. We always send an email confirming the purchase and providing an option to create a PayPal account if you haven't already. I apologize for any confusion this has caused, but I hope this helps to clarify things a bit.
