Hi. I have had 2 separate amounts of money taken from my account. 1 for £16 & one for £100. I haven't brought anything on Paypal for these amounts and have no idea who has taken this money. How are able people able to do this?

If you bought something online with a debit or credit card and did NOT log into your paypal account then of course it won't show on your paypal account as you bought as a 'guest buyer'.
However your seller may have processed that payment using their Paypal 'card reader' and so Paypal would show on your bank or card statement.

If that is not the case then contact customer services AND your card issuer to query the transactions.

If you need to open a dispute for a 'guest buyer' transaction then you can.......
1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will open one for you OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.

Hi. Thank you for the feed back. The transactions show on my PayPal account. I was notified of them by email from paypal when I was sat at home. I don't know how someone has managed to get my details and withdraw my money from my bank (through paypal) without my consent. I have opened a dispute with the resolution center. I spoke to my bank who told me they're powerless to stop the transactions and to contact paypal. Calling customer services has no effect. It won't let me get through and I don't hold out much hope for an automated resolution center. This is infuriating.

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top OR very bottom of page dependent on what country you are in. Scroll down past the list of help questions and click on 'Call us' bottom of that page. Log in and get the code.
