AMEX Gift cards

I have an AMEX gift card. How do I add it to my Paypal account?

I tried adding like any other debit/credit card. However, though all info. is correct, it keeps saying 'invalid security code'.

Next, tried calling paypal customer care, but they were unable to help, also they dont know, what to do or How to solve the problem. They did agree that you can add AMEX gift card to PayPal. 

Poor service. Disappointed.
