Do not want PayPal to have my phone number

I do not want PayPal to have access to my phone number (nor anyone else in the digital world, frankly)  What options do I have to access and use my account?  I have a regular payment to schedule before the end of the month and I will need to start looking for an alternative to PayPal soon if there is no alternative to giving them my phone humber.

This referral is marked as "solved" when it basically is telling you to close you PayPal account if you don't want to give them a mobile number.  Odd but so be it.

Its saying add a mobile phone or you can't continue to use paypal so basically your call.
