I have an item for $0.60. How do I give my buyer a field to enter the number of items they want, and end up with another field that does the math and tells them how much they owe?

Welcome to the Forums. 

This would be possible with a basic PayPal button created in your PayPal account.

Here’s how to create PayPal payment buttons:

1. Go to www.paypal.com and log in to your Business account.
2. Click ‘Merchant Services’ at the top of the page. (Buy Now button)
3. Select the button you want to create.
4. Follow the instructions and click ‘Create Button.’ (to create options select Add drop-down menu with price/option) 
5. Copy and paste the payment button code into your website code.

Please also Note:

Every payment button you create is saved in your PayPal account. To view saved buttons, click ‘Merchant Services’ and then click ‘My Saved Buttons’ under ‘Create Buttons.’ In ‘My Saved Buttons,’ you can change most button characteristics, view the HTML code, or create new buttons that are similar to existing ones.
