Does using paypals IPN Service cost anything?

Hi,

I am running a website that requires membership to enter, and I wanted to set up automated paying. So once the member pays they receive the membership. Anyways I was reading that I required paypals IPN service and was wondering if it costs me anything to use it. All help would be appreciated!

Instant Payment Notification is a message service that notifies you about updates to your PayPal transactions. It does not cost to use the PayPal IPN. You can use it to automate administrative functions, such as fulfilling orders, tracking shipments, and providing status updates. You can find out more information about using the PayPal IPN here.
