Billing Information Default Country

Hi,

I'm using Website Payments Standard.  During the checkout process, I noticed when a customer clicks "Don’t have a PayPal account? Pay using your credit or debit card" it takes them to the Billing Information page and the default country is always United Kingdom in the dropdown.  How do I change it, so the default is United States?

Thanks!

Anybody know why this is happening?  It keeps defaulting the country dropdown to the United Kingdom when people go to pay me with a credit card.  I'm in the United States and would like the default to be United States in the country dropdown when people pay me.  I have used Paypal for a number of years and have never seen this happen before.

Thank you!

Hello LisaDesign,

Welcome to the Forums.

With your account being a US PayPal account, United States should be the default country to pay using a credit card. You can contact PayPal directly to file a ticket on your account to get this corrected.

Alternatively, submit the buyer's country code in the request to PayPal to alter the default country.

I.e., for Express Checkout, send PAYMENTREQUEST_0_SHIPTOCOUNTRYCODE along with the request.

For Website Payments Standard, use <input type="hidden" name="country" value="ISO 3166-2 country code goes here">
