We currently use Add to Cart buttons, and we would like to offer a discount off the total of the cart based on how many items are placed in the cart. I checked the variables for discounts available and don't see one that would fit.. ... it looks like the discounts are based on specific items or off the total cart, but not based on qty of items in the cart.
for instance, we would like something like:
Buy 1 or 2 items - regular price
buy 3-4 items save 20% off your order
buy 5-9 items save 30%
buy 10 or more save 50%
is this possible?
I am comfortable handcoding if needed, just not sure what variables to use and where to put them inside the button code or cart code.

Hello LVerkeyn,
Welcome to the Community .
If you are using Website Payments Standard, yes you are correct you would have to add additional variables to the buttons or checkout flow for the discounts to apply. To get the best assistance with what variables to add where I would suggest you take a look at the PayPal Developer Network - Web Checkout Forum. I hope this helps.
