New PayPal card reader not working!!!!!

I have my very first Art Fair in 2 weeks, as a long time Paypal customer I thought I'd get the PayPal card reader and a new phone to use with it, in time to use it for my event. The phone works great and I have paired the phone to the card reader but the card reader isn't working. Bluetooth is turned on, internet is fine, the card reader just keeps saying "open the app on you phone or tablet", and when I try opening the PayPal Here app on my phone it says "Your application is being reviewed"!!!! Why is my application being reviewed? I've been a PayPal customer for years!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

I also have a similar problem. After I signed up the service I got an email saying that, in order to complete the subscription, I have to submit further info. The day after I got an email saying that my Paypal account has returned to regular standing. But if I try to log in with the Paypal Here app it says that my account is being reviewed.

Setting up PayPal Here  requires that an application is submitted by downloading the PayPal Here app. Many applicants are approved on the spot but some applications may take some time to review. If you have any additional questions about your application, you can call PayPal customer service by clicking on the "Contact us" option and then click "Call us".

I already use PayPal for online transactions, but had to upload ID for PayPal Here. Why?? After phoning the help line this question was not answered, even though PayPal now have my private data and ID. I have had this device since November and still not able to use. I will NEVER recommend this to anyone.

We apologize if this request for additional information has caused frustration. When customers start to use additional products that we offer, we will request to verify their information to use these products. When you apply for PayPal Here, we will make you verify your name, date of birth, social security number, and address. If this information can't be verified through the signup process, we do request documents. Once all information has been submitted via the Resolution Center, we will review it within 72 hours and send you a response via email.

Hi Drew Thank you for your reply but it does not address complaint. I was supposed to receive an email in November requesting the ID documents but I have no record of such until after I had contacted Custoner Service a couple of weeks ago. Those documents have been in PayPal’s hand for a couple of weeks, but still no access to PayPal Here. I still don’t get the problems with my ID. Paypal is very happy to take my fees and for me to use the online services for payments from my eBay and website transactions. Why all this extra buocracy? And to take so long over it? Andrew

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. There are additional risks involved with handling in--person credit card transactions, and an additional layer of vetting is necessary for PayPal Here as a result. 

 

If you've been waiting weeks for the review of your ID, there may be something wrong with your ability to receive the emails that we have sent to you. Please contact PayPal customer service to inquire further into the review status and to check to see if you're getting all the emails that we've sent.

 

To contact customer service, please click Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website for available options, or reach out by Facebook or Twitter.
