I'gve been away from PayPal for a while and need clarification on Sale Buttons

I have created a web site to sell artwork and jewelry. Each item is individual, there is only one of each. I created a detail page where if a person clicks on the thumbnail they will be taken to a page that describes the piece, price, etc. My intention was to have a "buy now" button on this page which would take the person to PayPal. I worry that I don't know what I'm doing. It's doubtful that a person would want to buy more than one item at a time, but if they do, do I need to figure out how to have a "cart" (or purchase one—trying to save $). Can I just copy PayPal code for each individual item (that has it's own page) and place that code on the item's page? (This is what I did in the past long ago when I had a different site.) The individual item doesn't appear to ask for a price, but I haven't looked too deeply into that yet.

Thanks in advance for your answers and help.
