How do I know if a customer really sent the payment?

It's my first time doing a transaction via Paypal and I really need to confirm whether my customer really sent the payment.
- April 7 12:59AM - money request sent
- April 7 1:02AM - customer sends me a text message confirming payment
- April 7 1:03AM - I receive a "notification of instant payment" from paypalserviceint.trackingsector at yahoo dot com
- April 7 1:42AM - my money request's status is still pending
Can you help me verify if this payment notification is legitimate? It seems fishy to me because the email is from a yahoo account. Kindly help.
