Can I use PayPal here in Europe

I am confused 

the site says I can use PayPal here in Europe but must trade in uk pounds

the rude lady on the “help desk” at pay pal said no we do not recommend and I cannot speak to the PayPal here team?

does anyone know if it will work in Germany France the Netherlands and Belgium 

paypal are usually great but my call today with the help desk was bordering on rude and unfriendly

Paypal is country specific so you have to open a paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / and bank accounts from within that country.

So if you are in the UK and have a UK paypal account and have UK financial info linked to it then yes you can trade with it.
