Accepting card Payments from customers on Mobile devices

When customers buy from my website using a laptop or computer they get the option of paying by Credit/Debit card using the PayPal portal. T£his works well. However, if they are using a mobile phone or tablet, they are not able to pay by card. The screen shows the choice, but after they put in their card details it then asks them to create a PayPal account. So now the customer can go no further and we lose the sale
Help. How can this be fixed?
