Suspicious Transactions

Has there ever been a situation where a PayPal request has resulted in fraudulent activity? I am new to OfferUp and someone is asking I request the money from them through PayPal, but also want to make sure they won’t then have access to wipe out my PayPal account if I do so.

However, it does not necessarily mean you'll get scammed by PayPal if you know what to look for:

Most scams stems from because people being tricked into something. If you can't see the link above, just switch out "us" with your two letter country code (ie, au, uk, ie, fr, de, etc) or as found by clicking any of these countries: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/country-worldwide
