Scammed by Buyer - asked to send to a different shipping address

I sold an item to a buyer who then asked me to send the item to a different shipping address (his "uni" address) then what was listed on PayPal when he sent the money. At the time I didn't think much of it and sent the item via Royal Mail Special delivery. 2 weeks later he has opened a dispute with PayPal claiming he did not receive the item & because the tracking link is related to the 2nd address he sent me (not the PayPal one) even though I have proof it was delivered he has won the PayPal case. 

 

It is now clear he was committing fraud from the beginning as he initially contacted me on Depop where I listed the item, the account he was messaging me on has now been deleted.

 

I have all the proof of him asking me to send to a different address, but it is ridiculous that PayPal won't even consider it when it is obvious he is committing fraud. I have lost £300 which I worked hard for, and the scammer can just easily go and fool other people and continue to do the same thing. 

 

Is there anything I can do about this? Incredibly distraught and upset.

Report this person to your local police and https://www.actionfraud.police.uk then contact PayPal customer service and see what they can do to Appeal the case:

 

Click HELP at the top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US.

Say "Live Agent" to the automated recording.

Ahh Hannah. I believe the exact same thing is going to happen to me, I am so upset. The item was delivered a few days ago and I’m expecting a dispute soon that I know I won’t win. Isn’t it so sad that people will just steal your money like this. I assume PayPal wasn’t any help at all?
