Refund Issues

Hi all,

I recently had an issue with a buyer where my item ended up being broken during shipping. He filed a dispute for a significantly not as described item. I logged into my paypal account and I saw that the money ($420) had been taken out of my account, leaving me around -407 dollars. I assumed that this meant they had already sent the money to him, but the case is still active even after I put $407 dollars back into my account to get it back in the positive. Please tell me I don't have to send ANOTHER 400 bucks, and that there is a way around this.

Thanks for the help!

Has the buyer escalated the dispute to a claim?

If so then Paypal 'hold' the funds until they have made a decision on that claim.

If they find in your favour the funds are released back to you.

If they find in his favour then normally he has to send the item back to your first (trackable to prove delivery) before his funds are released back to him.

Thats IF Paypal feel the return of the item is 'appropriate'.
