I am selling a macbook pro on gum tree for 1400, a guy emailed me that he wanted to buy it for 1500 and the extra 100 is for shipping, after I accepted the offer he told me to take the add off gum tree. I gave him my Westpac acc and BSB so he can transfer the money in but he told me to check the email in my spam. The email says that I have to ship the item first and sent him the shipping code to be able to receive the money. Is this a scam?

Hi @Adam11111,
Yes. It looks like a scam. The buyer needs to make the payment first. Once you see the payment in the Activity page of your PayPal account, you can go ahead and ship the item.
Check this article to find out how to spot a fraudulent email and what to do if you've received one.
Hope this helps!
