So is is possible to add a captcha to a paypal hosted donation button?

We are a not for profit which takes donations and recurring donations via Paypal.

We used to have a ton of people using us to test hacked accounts when we allowed single 1 dollar donations, we increased the minium to 10 to stop

this, however we now have a bunch of people using hacked accounts and testing them with our recurring donation button for 10 dollars a month.

Unfortunately a lot of our legitimate donors make 10 dollar monthly donations - so we don't want to break this, we rely on it.

Is it possible to add a captcha or something to a paypal hosted button to make this more annoying to the hacked account testers so they go away?

That functionality is not built into the PayPal Button Manager, but you could add that sort of thing with a little bit of JavaScript coding to bind a Captcha to your PayPal button separately.

If you happen to be using WordPress, another option would be to use a plugin like the PayPal WP Button Manager.  This mimics the PayPal Button Manager within WordPress, but adds the functionality you're looking for.
