My business has recently been the victim of credit card fraud relating to the purchase of digital gift certificates purchased with stolen CC information. Upon investigation, it was brought to my attention that digital gift certificates fall under the category of "digital goods" and therefore are not covered under PayPal's Seller Protection.
If I were instead to choose to offer physical gift certificates that could be mailed to customers, would these then be covered under PayPal's Seller Protection as the good purchased would be a physical piece of paper/card. The physical gift certificates would contain a code one could use to make purchases on our website.
Thank you for your help.

Yes, but proof of delivery is a must so you'll need to have a tracking number for the mailing of the certs.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
