Hi,

I'm selling a laptop and I received a response from a buyer on gumtree

They asked if it can be posted to Ireland and have stated which couriers to use:

Buyer: "Use either DHL, DPD, FASTWAY GLS and not post office."

Buyer: "Because there is a huge delauy with internation items in ireland and can sometimes take up to 2 weeks when u send by post office"

Buyer: "<their email> This is my PayPal email address you can send a request of the total amount including postage fee"

In my ad description I provied the option for making offers and this buyer wants to pay the full amount + pp

Would appreciate some insight whether to go ahead or avoid this buyer. Thanks

Just read this so you are aware 'in case' its a scam, not saying it is as too early yet but some red warning signs are there.

SCAM.

They encourage you to accept a 'direct' Paypal payment and may ask you to send the item internationally.
No funds or activity of the transaction shows in your Paypal account and any emails 'may' go into your junk or spam folders.

They don't quibble on cost and want FAST postage + ask for a money request so that they can get some details to send you a fake message.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't because they don't actually have a Paypal account and have no intention of paying you.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.
Paypal do not tell you to send trackable, they advise it for selling protection but it is not compulsory.
Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.
