I am selling in game items. Is there any way I can protect myself from people opening a dispute? I do record the trades, but will that be valid for PayPal? Based on what I have read so far, PayPal's chargeback system is kind of different than what I expected. Can someone please tell me how to protect myself from this?

A chargeback is not a paypal dispute, its done directly via the buyers card issuer if they funded their paypal payment that way.
The card issuer makes all decisions but paypal will pass on any info you provide on your behalf.
If you lose then you may be covered by seller protection and reimbursed BUT unfortunately for you paypal does not cover virtual / digital items.
You can sell them but at your own risk.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
