I’ve been robbed depressingly, I have no idea what to do

First time using PayPal and I was robbed. I posted an add on gumtree, the buyer told me they use PayPal, I was new to this service and followed all instructions via email. Even posted the item only to find out it was a robbery... I looked at the email again and it was from a ‘papal’ and not Paypal account. I emailed Paypal and seems I will never get a response.

Unfortunately, there is nothing PayPal can do if there was no payment transaction in your PayPal account and buyer sent you a fake PayPal email saying they've sent payment when they didn't. Always log on to your PayPal account to check for payment first, don't just believe emails, even if the payment is subject to PayPal's 21 day funds availability hold, there should be a record of payment in your PayPal account.

To make a formal complaint anyway: https://www.paypal.com/za/smarthelp/article/how-can-i-make-a-formal-complaint-to-paypal-faq2016

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
