I got scammed, can i get money back at all

So since PayPal's user support system is horrible, can i get some help please? I'm new to PayPal and had thought that my customer had transferred me money prior to me sending there package. turns out they hadn't, and were emailing me using a fake PayPal account, is there anyway to get money back. PayPal won't open a dispute and its not looking good.
