Hi Guys
I only ever use PayPal to purchase items. I am however now selling a couple of items on Gumtree. I remember years ago PayPal was open to be abused by scammers but wondered whether it is safe now?
The item I'm selling is for nearly £1000, I have said that it is ok to accept Paypal as long as collection takes place after the funds have cleared. Is this safe or could I still be scammed afterwards?
Regards
LHF

Hi @LHFSTUFF,
Thank you for your first post as a new community member! I'm sorry to hear that you experienced a dispute in the past. It's never a great situation to be in. Hopefully I can help you protect yourself.
You can learn more about Seller Protection here. One thing to note is that hand-delivered items are not covered by Seller Protection. If you mail an item and get tracking for it, the delivery can be confirmed, and that meets a portion of the Seller Protection requirements.
I hope this helps!
Olivia
