Guests left without paying

Hi Everyone,

I run a hostel, and when guests book directly through my website, it links to paypal for a small 30 % deposit.

They paid that and booking was secured.

They stayed for 2 weeks and left without paying a balance of over 500+ euro. These are not regular guests  that you could nicely contact and ask for the balance. They're young girls.

We don't have their card details since they paid via paypal.

Does pay pal back up properties in these kind of situations? I've already messaged them and sent them a request for the balance

I know i should have asked them to settle their bills earlier, but we generally don't have any issues with guests paying.

Thanks in advance.

Penny

The only thing you can do is invoice them. You can lead a horse...

PayPal only collects debt that is owed to PayPal.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I've never stayed in a hotel where you can post pay !

You should always charge guests in full at check in, not check out.

Furthermore you should always take a deposit in case they damage your premises.

Unfortunately there is nothing that PayPal can do for you, as you provided

a service before it was actually paid for.
