Hello everyone,
Over the weekend, my Paypal account & 2 of my bank accounts were compromised and I received 2 Paypal payments amounting to £260. This money was then withdrawn to one of my bank accounts and then sent to an anonymous bank account from my other bank account (hope you follow). I guess they must've had access to my internet banking to know that my other account had the sufficient funds. Now both the sender accounts have opened cases against me saying that the transactions were not authorised and my Paypal balance is now -251.** (after the fees my account was charged with when receiving the payments). I have made both my banks aware of this but I cannot get through to anyone on Paypal's end due to the COVID-19 situation and I'm afraid that if I don't, the cases will swing in the claimant's favour and I will be left £250ish out of pocket and a victim of fraud due to no fault of my own.
Does anyone have any help or advice please?
Thank you.
