Hi,
need some advice.
I sold a reading ticket to a buyer for about £400. The item was sent next day signed for so tracked and everything. The festival passed and the ticket was used(i can get confirmation the ticket was used from reading). So... being stupid... i binned any of the proof of postage since the festival had passed and everyone was happy.
Now a few months later the buyer claimed the ticket did not arrive or was bought on a stolen credit card(PayPal told me two different stories)
anything i can do?

A buyer has up to 6 months to chargeback or file a paypal dispute so you should keep all tracking info for at least that long.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Hi,
yes I understand but because I just wasn't thinking about people scamming me I saw he had used the ticket and just thought he would be happy he got a ticket and got to go but then now he has chargedback.
Is there anything at all i can do?
do you know if i can get tracking info after i have binned it e.g. went to post office and asked if i knew the date?
thanks

If the buyer filed an Item Not Received claim on the transaction, you'd need to submit to PayPal online tracking showing delivery to the address you were provided in the Transaction Details of the payment in order to remain eligible for coverage under PayPal's Seller Protection Policy. If you no longer have that tracking information, I'm afraid that the claim would be closed in favor of the buyer. I recommend reaching out to the shipping company directly to see if they can provide you with some sort of tracking that shows delivery.

If a buyer used a credit card, you're out of luck. They will charge-back, whether they got the item or not and they will keep your item and the money. That's how PayPal works.
