I’m selling an item on eBay and the buyer asked me if I could purchase a $400 eBay gift card along with it as a birthday gift to a friend. The PayPal email I got told me to scratch off the back of the gift cards and send it to the email as verification. This process seems a little sceptical has anyone gone through the gift card verification process and can help?

I am currently in the exact situation as I have a buyer that is pressuring me to buy Ebay gift cards to add to what was bought. I have stopped short of buying the cards as the local Walgreens advised me not to scratch off the codes. Now out of the blue I am being approached by another person to do the same to receive a different amount. I was not born yesterday folks. I will now be taking all this to Ebay directly.
