If money is sent friends and family, and the buyer claims fraud, will the seller have the money taken from their account? I’m selling an item locally and I mentioned to a friend that I was using PayPal to keep myself safe (safer) from fraud. They said that if I accepted the money as a business transaction the person could easily dispute the charges and the money would be taken from my account because I wasn’t mailing anything. They said this can’t be done with friends and family, but it seems to me that they would just file fraudulent charges with their bank and the end results for the seller would be the same, product taken and money taken back. Am I wrong? Is it actually safe as a seller to accept friends and family? Thanks.
