tax residency

Hi! I've been requested to fill a tax residency form. I no longer live in Australia and I'm a tax resident of a country outside of Australia. When I fill the form it keeps popping "the name/lastname you provided doesn’t match the account owner’s". What am I supposed to do? I aready checked my profile info just to make sure and I just don't get it. I don't even use this account anymore, I opened a new account. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced!

Hello @crisss2,

Welcome to PayPal Community Forum and thank you for posting!

I understand your concern tax residency. PayPal is required to document new Business and individual accounts to determine if they’re reportable under the OECD Common Reporting Standards (CRS). During onboarding, account holders are required to indicate whether they’re tax residents in one or more jurisdictions outside of Australia. If the consumer or individual account holder isn’t a tax resident in any jurisdiction outside Australia, then PayPal won’t collect the tax information required for reporting and will only require certification. More information about Common Reporting Standard (CRS) can be found here. Since, you're having issues during the process, you can contact our Customer Support Team through the available contact options on our website. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Customer Support by sending a DM on Twitter or Instagram or a PM on Facebook

Regards,

Ayesha
