Thank you for joining the PayPal Community Forum and posting! I'm sorry to hear that you've been unable to update your middle name. Please take a look at this Help Center article regarding name changes.
If your middle name is already on your account and is being changed from one name to another, legal name change documents may be necessary, because transfer of ownership from one person to another is not allowed without specific documents showing that transfer, and then only on a Business account, so proof of the two names being the same person is required if it's not those circumstances. If it's a minor change for spelling, it should not be a problem through the linked process.
If the process outlined above is not fruitful, you can reach out to Customer Service for assistance. Click Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website for contact options, or try one of our social media options via Direct Private Message on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.
