I had a Tax ID hold, so I went to put in m social, this did not work because my middle initial was attached to my last name for some reason. I edited it and when I went back to reinput my social the hold was gone and I could not find where to input my tax ID. Did it automatically update even though I only put in m SSN the one time? Is there somewhere I can check this?

Hello @YoungFLUFFS
Thank you for posting in the PayPal Help Community and welcome!
I understand your concern about the Tax Hold in PayPal. When you’re paid for goods and services, the US Internal Revenue Service considers this reportable income. If you have not confirmed your taxpayer status, tax laws require PayPal to withhold 24% of payments once you receive $600 in payments for goods and services within a calendar year. More information about Tax Holds can be found here : PayPal tax holds for US taxpayers.
Hope this information helps you,
Bindu

Hello @YoungFLUFFS
Thanks for responding back! You can confirm the taxpayer status by either providing your US tax ID or completing a Certificate of Foreign Status. Here’s how to add your Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number to your PayPal account:
Click the Settings icon next to "Log out."
Click Add your SSN.
Add your information and click Save.
As you mentioned that you've attempted to add your SSN, you can review the information in the settings page of your PayPal account. You can refer this article for more information on how to add TIN or SSN in your PayPal account.
Have a great day!
Bindu
