Security Codes being sent

Greetings,

I keep receiving text messages saying "Your security code is: [code] Your code expires in 5 minutes. Please don't reply."

Is someone trying to log into my account? How can I stop this?

I've already changed my password.

Thanks,

Shane.

It might be that some of your details are wrong so check everything on your account. I keep getting messages about an someone else’s account that has somehow got my email address. PayPal won’t talk to me so I just keep doing a failed log in to try and prompt some action from either the user or PayPal! There isn’t anything else I can do. I’ve logged hours on the help centre with no success and escalated to formal complaint but PayPal refuse to deal with this.

My password is a 12 character, securely generated complex password, which I changed to a new one several days ago but these SMS messages persist.  I've removed all merchant funding sources and have also made the following change:

This just happened to me too. It is actually the 2nd time in a month that I’ve gotten this text sending me a security code. I wasn’t trying to use my PayPal. It worries me too.

It seems to be automated fraud that is trying to crack accounts.  Paypal needs to proactively do something about this.

This also happened to me as well...when I had PayPal send me the security code it came from the same number as the one I didn't request. So I believe this was an attempt to hack my account. The problem is why choose to send me the text. I have reset my password already, but I do have some concerns.

I changed the email and I still am getting these text once daily.  I think there are hack programmers trying every single paypal account available.  This did not solve my problem. Why else would I keep getting these text to verify my account when I never asked for them?  Paypal needs to do Better at protecting against fraud!

guys dont be to alarm.. theres a whole lot of websites i have signed up that utilitize paypal.  im not sure which one trys to connect to paypal in the background after a couple of months paypal seems to just block them till they are reauthorized..  heres a couple that i know i have connected my paypal account to and every once in a while when i go back to them they are no longer connected because paypal wants them to reauthorize.  i would much rather just have them confirm those website with sometype of forever cookie or something.  but anywho in no particular order

voya financial services 401k

experian

mint

nerdwallet

rocket money truebill

trim

and im sure i missed a couple.

just ignore those text messages.  if you didnt request than dont use it lol.  thats what its there for to avoid intrusion if someone does have the password.  if anything consider it a safety check.  it be nice if paypal included what device tried to make the connection but im sure it would worry most of you guys even more cause than you would see where those servers from those providers are located and flip out.  but im sure they can integrate websites you opted in to have access to your account and give those a nickname.  that would help.
