My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile.
Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.
I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.
Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.
Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.
Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!
Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

Nice to hear from someone who knows what it is like.
The previous poster said "Once you are able to access your account, please update everything so that future situations go more smoothly for you". Like it is my fault PayPal changed the goalposts?
I find this sort of thing really frustrating, as when I ask for help it is not for something in the FAQ's or right in front of your eyes. I have done the hard yards first. The fact that I have had issues with access to the Sensus site, booking a covid vaccination, Tax return on top of PayPal, all because I cannot give out a mobile phone number is also very frustrating. I owe tax so I am sure they will manage to get in contact with me LOL.

The missing link here is that currently one CANNOT log in without registering a mobile phone number. What am I supposed to do if II DO NOT HAVE A MOBILE PHONE? The situation before was that I would get my verification code via my email. This worked fine for me. Why is this no longer an option?
